County maintenance employees, from left, Scott Mullins, David Salyer and Allen Dotson remove old asphalt at the rear entrance of the county courthouse Tuesday afternoon in preparation for a small addition that will house a walk-through metal detector for security purposes. The room will measure 10 by 16 feet. Once in place, the metal detector will be manned by two deputies during courthouse hours. A covered wheel chair ramp will also be added.
