A majestic sight

Derek Smith and his father Steve Smith spotted this bald eagle one morning in mid-November during an outing at Flannagan Lake. It had been eating a deer carcass beside the road near the Skeetrock bridge and flew into a tree as the Smiths approached. Neither man had seen an eagle locally before. PHOTO BY DEREK SMITH.
