The Clintwood Envirothon Team traveled to Virginia State University’s campus in Petersburg last month to compete in the state Envirothon Contest. The contest has six stations: forestry, wildlife, soils, aquatics, special issue (rangelands and pastureland) and a 20-minute oral presentation. They placed 10th out of 15 teams in the presentation on Sunday, May 19. The remainder of the contest occurred on Monday, May 20. The team placed out of 18 teams in the remainder of the stations: wildlife, seventh; special issue, ninth; aquatics, fifth; forestry, eighth; and soils, 12th. The team placed ninth overall.
