The transportation and maintenance departments of the county school division recently held a food drive for the Dickenson County Food Bank. The drive is held annually before Christmas, but this year it was held before Thanksgiving due to the low amount of food at the local food bank. The drive was a great success, with county schools pitching in, along with central office staff and other departments. A small school bus filled with food items was delivered to the food bank. Director of Transportation Burl Mooney said he appreciates everyone who took place in the drive.
