Dickenson County Sheriff’s Sgt. Christopher Yates (left) and Deputy Jeremy Fleming were recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Drivers on Sept. 18 at Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon for their dedication in successfully removing drunk drivers from county highways. Others recognized included Virginia state troopers and officers from other counties. Dickenson County Sheriff Bobby G. Hammons accompanied his officers to the presentation and wants everyone to know that all his officers are constantly on the lookout for DUI/DUID drivers and he is proud of the success they have had in the effort.
