Dickenson County Tourism Director Rita Surratt (front row, second from left) recently presented to county supervisors a plaque recognizing the Cranesnest River as a Virginia scenic river. A 10.7-mile section of the river, from Route 637 to the Flannagan Revervoir Cranesnest Launch Ramp, received the designation. The plaque will be displayed in the county visitors center in Clintwood. With Surratt, in the front row, from left, are supervisors Shelbie Willis and Donnie Rife and tourism board member Mary Hylton. In the back, from left, are supervisors Gary Hall, David Yates and Delano Sykes, county administrator David Moore, Haysi Mayor Larry Yates and Breaks Park Superintendent Austin Bradley.
