Haysi students on Liberty Island during bomb threat

Twenty-five Haysi High School seniors and five chaperones were among around 2,700 tourists evacuated from Liberty Island last Friday because of a bomb threat. Students, who hadn’t been on the island long, were in a cafeteria when police ordered the evacuation. Student Nick Mullins snapped this image of a SWAT team member and police talking as the group waited to board a ferry.
