APPLICATION NUMBER: 1011894

Paramont Contura, LLC is applying for Phase III bond release of Permit No. 1602175 located in Dickenson County and Russell County 1.3 miles northeast of Clincho on McClure River. This permit consists of 16.25 acres. As provided by 4VAC25-130-800.40 of the Virginia Coal Surface Mining Reclamation Regulations, the Applicant is requesting that the current total bond amount of $10,100 in the form of Insurance Surety posted for this permit be released. All 16.25 acres will be deleted from the permit.

This bond reduction request is based on the following Phase III reclamation: The permit area has been reclaimed, vegetated and the post mining land uses of unmanaged forestry/undeveloped land and industrial – gas well(s)/pipeline(s) have been achieved.

Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of June 17, 2026 submit written comments or objections concerning this bond reduction, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
