JANE TAYLOR FULLER
January 07, 2026
April 13, 1935-December 10, 2025. Jane Taylor Fuller, age 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Charlottesville, surrounded by the love and devotion of her children, Jodi Jansen Galleo and Kirk Zior Jansen, both of Charlottesville.
Jane was raised in the small town of Haysi, nestled in the Southern Appalachian region. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reual H. Fuller and Martha Edna (Taylor) Fuller; her brother, Harvey Fuller; her sister, Shirley Fuller; and her niece, Vikki Fuller. She is survived by her children, Jodi and Kirk; her beloved granddaughter, Nia Elizabeth Dowling; her sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Fuller; her nephews, Steve Fuller and Richard Fuller; and her great-nephew, Bryan Fuller.
Jane was a member of Dickenson First Presbyterian Church in Haysi and graduated from Haysi High School in 1953. From an early age, she possessed a natural gift for nurturing and caring for children. After raising her own family, Jane continued this calling by working as a nanny—first with the McEldowney family, and later for 20 years with the Mann family, where she once again played a meaningful and cherished role in children's lives.
Family was at the heart of Jane's world. She lovingly hosted all family holidays, transforming her home into a warm and welcoming gathering place. Known for her delicious home-cooked meals and extraordinary baked goods, Jane made every celebration special—especially Christmas, with her thoughtful gifts and beautifully crafted stockings.
Jane's greatest personal joy was reading. An avid reader throughout her life, she found comfort and companionship in books. She also had a deep love for cats and often rescued strays. Her cherished cat, Callie, who was rarely far from her side, now resides with her son, Kirk.
Jane will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Though she is gone, her kindness, warmth, and loving spirit will live on in the many treasured memories she leaves behind.
