Billy Boyd, age 90, of Nancy Hollow passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late John Romans and Hettie Tiller Boyd. He retired as Maintenance Superintendent with VDOT in Dickenson County and was a member of Sandlick Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy; a son, Eddie Ray Boyd; son in-law, Mike Holdsworth; siblings, Sadie Lester, Gladys (Thurman) Sykes, Violena (Elmer) Owens, Kennith (Hattie) Boyd, Kate (Vernon) Tiller, Brady (Irene) Boyd and Grady Boyd.
Survivors include his children, Jackie (Mavis) Boyd, Haysi, Edna Holdsworth, New Kent, Judy (Ronnie) Edwards, Birchleaf, John Boyd, Haysi, and Harold (Christina) Boyd, Dandridge, Tn.; grandchildren, Conda (David) Edwards, Crystal Boyd, Lara (Michael) Kennedy, Jared (Brooke) Bias, Nicholas Mullins, Heather (Victor) Ramos, Teri (Chris) Yates, Traci (Tyler) Arrington, Leann Dotson, Logan (Adria) Boyd, Lindsey Boyd; great-grandchildren, Grace (Charlie), Rebecca (Jacob), Shelby, Zoe, Lilly, Joshua, Noah, Chandler, Isabella, Chase, Brayden, Liam, Kalie, Khyler, Ian, Piper, Hayes, Emmitt, Tristan (Kaitlyn), Wyatt and Phoenix; great-great-grandchildren, Sadie, Lyla and Avery and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert, Bill Campbell, William McClanahan and Billy Campbell officiating and Brother Ronnie Counts. Burial will follow in the Counts-Boyd Cemetery, Lick Creek. Chandler Mitchell, Chase Ramos, Chris Yates, Christopher Anderson, Charlie Cox, Jacob Inscore, Victor Ramos and Logan Boyd, will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Boyd, Joseph Cook, Vernal Boyd, Mike Boyd, Eddy Boyd and Bunk Tiller.
