HELEN FAYE SHORTT

Helen Faye Shortt of Spotsylvania County, Virginia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, and walked into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Helen was born in the Appalachian hills of Wise County on June 7, 1936 to Marvin and Tina Crabtree. At 17, she married her husband, Niolen Ray Shortt on November 16, 1953 and had four children followed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was a member and treasurer of Fellowship Baptist Church in Oakton for many years. Helen loved to care for her children, shop, read books and travel. She will always be remembered as a devoted Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother with the most beautiful heart of gold that never judged and always loved.

A graveside service was held at 11a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, at Culpeper National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude. Online guest book is available at covenantfuneralservice.com.
