LAWRENCE HADLEY EDWARDS

Lawrence Hadley Edwards age 74, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at his resident, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Edwards was a lifelong resident of Haysi. He retired from the Dickenson County School System, where he worked in the bus maintenance department. Mr. Edwards was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He was a loving father and grandfather, who loved spending time with his family and being outdoors.

Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents, Hadley and Eva Powers Edwards; brothers, Phayne, Garnie, Palmer, Kelly, and Freeman Edwards; one grandson, Jacob Steven Morgan.

Survivors include his daughters, Mellonie Anderson of Abingdon, Lori Morgan of Wise, and Amy Edwards and husband, Ricky Ray of Haysi; life companion, Ginger Mullins of Haysi; grandchildren, Cody Anderson, Dalton Anderson and Chloe Whitcher; great-grandchildren, Cohen Anderson and Hadley Whitcher.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 30, 1 p.m. at Clintwood Funeral Home chapel with Barrett McGlothin and Jim Duty officiating. Burial followed in the L.H. Edwards Cemetery, 215 Valley View Street, Haysi. Family served as pallbearers. Visitation began at 12 Noon until time of service.
