County reports 22 COVID cases

Dickenson County reported 22 new COVID-19 cases between Jan. 9 and Tuesday.

According to the Virginia Department of Health, the county’s total number of cases since the pandemic began increased from 5,539 to 5,561 in one week.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 82.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 46 to 6,974 during the same period. Russell County’s total case count increased by 26 to 10,733. Wise County’s case count increased by 50 to 15,736.
