County: 42 new cases in one week

Dickenson County reported 42 new COVID-19 cases between Dec. 12 and Tuesday.

According to the Virginia Department of Health, the county’s total number of cases since the pandemic began increased from 5,368 to 5,410 in one week.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 73.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 139 to 6,717 during the same period. Russell County’s total case count increased by 79 to 10,522. Wise County’s case count increased by 103 to 15,456.
