County reports 12 cases; more case growth nearby

Dickenson County reported 12 new COVID-19 cases between Oct. 17 and Tuesday.

According to the Virginia Department of Health, the county’s total number of cases since the pandemic began increased from 5,163 to 5,175 in one week.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 73.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 10 to 6,383 during the same period. Russell County’s total case count increased by 46 to 10,021. Wise County’s case count increased by 47 to 14,752.
