SOPHIA HAY

Sophia Hay loved her family and friends dearly. Sophia and Loyall enjoyed going to the Charlotte races, attending the Ralph Stanley festivals and volunteering for Dickenson County kids fishing day for many years. She enjoyed listening to her bluegrass music and going to the library to do crafts. She absolutely loved going, didn’t matter who with or where. Sophia will be dearly missed. She is proceeded in death by her father and mother; Ernest Victor and Mary Louise (Bowen) Potter; husband Loyall Hay; sister, Nina Mullins; brother, Donald Potter, and daughter in-law, Betty Hay.
Survivors include four children, Gary, Deborah, Bonichia (Howie) and Reginia (Tom); nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Family received friends Sunday, August 27 at 12 noon until 1 p.m. where a funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home chapel with clergymen Frank Hall. Pallbearers were grandsons, family and friends. Online condolences may be made at www.mullinsfuneralhome.net.
