COVID on rise again

Dickenson County reported 26 new COVID-19 cases between Aug. 15 and Tuesday.
According to the Virginia Department of Health, the county’s total number of cases since the pandemic began increased from 5,009 to 5,035 in one week.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 72.
Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 10 to 6,276 during the same period. Russell County’s total case count increased by 19 to 9,770. Wise County’s case count increased by 28 to 14,377.
