RONALD DWAIN FLEMING

Ronald Dwain Fleming of Clintwood, age 60, departed from this world on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
Dwain was a father, a big brother, grandfather, stepbrother, uncle, nephew, cousin and a good friend to so many. He attended Clintwood High School and graduated with the Class of 1983. He was previously employed as an underground roof pinner operator in the coal industry. Dwain loved his family and friends and was always kind, generous, and willing to help others as often as he was able. Anyone can tell you how stubborn he could be at times, but he also had an enormous heart and sense of humor that never failed to make you laugh and cheer you up if you were down. The bright and quirky light he brought to this world will be sorely missed.
Dwain was born to Ronald Farris Fleming and the late Mary Ruth Whitt on May 17, 1963 in Fort Knox, Ky., the eldest of three children.
In addition to his mother, Dwain was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Dewey and Georgia Fleming; maternal grandparents, Elbert and Opal Whitt; one stepbrother, Scott Charles Mullins, and by one son, Jesse Fleming.
Dwain is survived by his daughter, Tonya Butts of Clintwood; his father and stepmother, Ronald Farris and Rosalie Fleming of Clintwood; two brothers, Garry (Karey) Fleming and Larry (Donna) Fleming both of Clintwood; one stepsister, Summer (Jimmy) Runyun of Clintwood. He is also survived by four beautiful grandchildren, Dalton, Bailey, Jaxson, and Jaeson and by a special niece, Tabitha Fleming Wallace, and by several other family members and friends.
Per Dwain’s wishes he will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date at the Dewey Fleming Family Cemetery on Camp Jacob Road, Clintwood. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mullins Funeral Home, P. O. Box 928, Clintwood, Va., 24228. Online condolences may be made at www.mullinsfuneralhome.net.
