Dickenson County military tributes: Eugene Blair

Machinist's Mate Eugene Blair, son of Dakota and Margaret Blair of Nora, Virginia, lost his life heroically at Port Darwin, Australia, on February 19, 1942, when he attempted to save the lives of others on board his ship. Blair was buried at sea. This photo was found in the August 23, 1945, issue of The Dickenson Herald newspapers.
