JENNINGS BRYAN WALLACE

Jennings Bryan Wallace, age 77, passed away on Friday April 7, 2023 at home after a lingering illness. Bryan was born on September 28, 1945 in Clintwood to Otis Wallace and Lavada Sluss.

He was a graduate of Clintwood High School class of 1964 and Clinch Valley College class of 1966. He joined the Air Force after Clinch Valley College where he trained pilots on a link trainer during the Vietnam era. He got his commercial pilots license while in the air force and had his aviation mechanics license. He owned 2 small planes, which he loved. He was a licensed Scuba diver since 1978 in Clintwood.

Bryan spent the majority of his working years working on strip jobs running heavy equipment, which he loved doing.

All of these things Bryan loved, but the thing he loved the most was living his life for the Lord as a Christian and trying to teach his family what to do to meet him in Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Lavada Wallace; his paternal grandparents, Eli Wallace and Mattie Mullins; maternal grandparents, Kenos Sluss and Maggie Senter; one son, Patrick Wallace; and brothers Don Wallace and Steve Wallace.

Survivors include his wife, Renita Wallace of 31 1⁄2 years of marriage; sons, Bryan Keith Wallace (Kathrine) of Wise, Michael Bradford Wallace (Amanda) of Harrogate, Tn., Gary Glenn Mullins (Crystal) of Clintwood; daughter in-law, Michele Payne of Sevierville, Tn.; brother, Barry Wallace (Ligeia) of Clintwood; sisters, Rebecca Elliott and Jequita Ratliff (Derick) both of Clintwood; grandchildren, Brittany Cottrill (Chris) of Abingdon, Jeffery Wallace of Fort Sill, Ok., Alyssa Lasley of Lebanon, Harley Mullins (fiancée Hannah), Lucas Mullins (fiancée Maggie), and John Mark Mullins all of Clintwood, Owen Levi Wallace of Wise; nephews, nieces and their children, Bill Elliott IV (Claire) and Afton of Sarasota, Fl., Bryan Jeff Elliott of Clintwood, Dana Cronkhite (Chris) and Jolie of Clintwood, Stevie West (Cody), Callen and Emyrn Lavada of Sweetwater, Tn., Amber Jablonski, Ronnie and Marissa of New Port Richey, Fl., Brandon Wallace (Amy) Kaleigh, Kirsten, Kennadi, Noah, Parker, Kason and Karter of Clintwood, Leanne Wallace and Kala Wallace (Gannon, McKinnon and Kalan) both of Clintwood.

A memorial service for Bryan will be Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Clintwood Church of Christ at 2 p.m.

His words to the ones he spoke with during his last days were “I hope to meet you in Heaven”.
