PAUL DAVID ADKINS

Paul David Adkins, 71, of Fox Lake, Il., passed away March 22, 2023 at the Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, Il.  He was born on October 21, 1951 in Grundy to the union of Elisha and Daisy Adkins.

After attending Haysi High School, Paul entered the U. S. Army for six years and was honorably discharged. Later, he worked at Conrad Hilton in Chicago. Immediately afterwards, he went to ITT Harper Manufacturing Company where he met his wife, Youlia Jewa where they both worked.

Paul became a minister and served as a superintendent of a private Christian School in Northern Illinois. He had been serving in ministry for over 30 years. He was promoted to an associate pastor in the Fullness of Christ Church where he was later ordained to the Office of the Apostle.

Paul is survived by his wife of 47 loving years, Youlia Jewa Adkins of Fox Lake, Il.; his son and best friend, Jeffrey D. Adkins of Fox Lake, Il.; his sisters,  Beulah (Fred) Ratliff of Asheboro, NC, Denna (Eddie) O’Quinn of Clintwood and June (the late LeRoy) Church of McClure, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Elisha and Daisy Adkins; his sisters, Josephine McKinney, Barbara Hill, and Janice Ratliff and  brother, Vernel Lee Adkins.

Visitation was held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Symonds Lakes Funeral Home 111 W. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL, 60030. Chapel service was at 11:30 a.m. Apostle Dr. Gregory Schroeder, Sr., Officiating. Military Honors followed at the funeral home. Interment to be held private at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Il., for additional information and donations please contact the funeral home at 847-543-1080.
