EMMA JEAN STANLEY FLEMING

Emma Jean Stanley Fleming, 96, of Harrisonburg, formally of Clintwood, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 15. She was the first born of Bill and Ava Stanley on February 3, 1927.
Emma Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Denny; grandson, Billy; brothers, Bobby and Nicky and her sister, Nina Ryder. She spent her entire life in Clintwood before moving to Harrisonburg in 2016. She was a member of Clintwood Baptist Church.
She leaves behind her daughter, Libby (Kent) Brown; grandchildren, Brent Fleming of Abingdon, Meredith (Bobby) Nicely of Christiansburg, and Natalie (Shawn) Sherlock of Timberville; five great-grandchildren, Jade, Austin, Keirianna, Avalene and Alex; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Patty Jo Marshall of Louisville, Ga.; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family received friends Sunday, March 19 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends were requested to meet at Clintwood Funeral Home on Monday, March 20, at 10 a.m. to proceed to Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, where a graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m. by Mike Yates. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
