County supervisors Josh Evans and Rhonda Sluss were busy Tuesday morning ceremonially scooping out the first dirt to launch construction of a splash pad and recreation area at the former Ralph Cummins Stadium in Clintwood. Boyd’s Construction is in charge of the project, which is funded by the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority, the Columbus Phipps Foundation, the board of supervisors and the town.
