DOROTHY EDWARDS

Dorothy Edwards, age 97, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Clintwood.  Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Bertie M. and Bertha Owens.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Trinkle Edwards; a grandson, Craig Edwards, and sister, Stella Newberry.

Survivors include her son, Carvel (Connie) Edwards of Clintwood grandsons, Christopher (Maritza) Edwards of Bend, Or. and Carey Edwards of Clintwood; great-grandchildren, Moxy, Mosby, and Fable Edwards; a special great-grandson, Nick Slagle; a sister, Pearlie Fuller of Haysi, and a special friend, Rosalee Fleming. 

Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2023 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Toby Bailey, David O’quinn, Tony Yates, and Alfred Yates officiating.  Burial followed in the F. L. Colley Cemetery, Haysi.  Pallbearers were Randy Newberry, Brian Newberry, Carey Edwards, Christopher Edwards, Chris Lowry, Bill Rose, and friends.  The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, where a song service was held at 7 p.m. with Bill Rose and others.  Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
