One death, 33 new cases

Dickenson County reported 33 new COVID-19 cases in one week.

According to the Virginia Department of Health, the county’s total number of cases since the pandemic began was 4,788 as of yesterday, compared to 4,755 on Jan. 17.
The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths increased by one, from 65 to 66.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases was reported to have increased by 32 in seven days, from 6,064 Jan. 17 to 6,096 yesterday. Russell County’s total case count reportedly increased by 72 to 9,261. Wise County’s case count increased by 68 to 13,664.
