WILLIAM FRED LILLY

William Fred Lilly, Jr. age 74, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn. A lifelong resident of Clintwood, graduate of Clintwood High School and Wise Vocational School. He served his country in the U. S. Army during Vietnam war. He worked at Clintwood Lumber and Clintwood Sewing Factory along with other jobs. He was of the Baptist faith, loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed time with family and shortwave radio.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ruth Lilly.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Lilly of Clintwood; son, Michael Lilly and wife Lara of Gate City; daughter, Jessica Dunford and husband Ronald of Wise; one brother, Dennis Lilly of Clintwood; six grandchildren, Cameron, Olivia, Conner, Colin, Zoe and Cole and one uncle, Amos Mooney, Louisville, KY; along with cousins and many other relatives.

Funeral Services for William Fred Lilly, Jr were conducted 6 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Glenn Sluss officiating. Graveside services was on Monday January 16, 2023 at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery at 1 p.m. The family received friends from 5 p.m. till service time.
