GARY DOUGLAS JUSTICE

Gary Douglas Justice passed away Sunday Dec. 25, 2022 at the Dickenson Community Hospital, Clintwood. He was born December 3, 1950 in Pike County Kentucky, the son of the late Ballard and Roxie Goff Justice. He began his career in the coal industry at the age of 16 as a truck driver and coal miner. His efficiency earned him the nick name “Speedy “. His strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his own trucking company in the late 1970’s and would flourish throughout the 80’s and beyond. He was a lifetime member of the Burdine Free Will Baptist Church Burdine, Ky. and most recently attending the Dwale Community Church in Clintwood. After retirement he enjoyed meeting up with his buddies for breakfast at Hardee’s of Clintwood every morning. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed having fun with family. He is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters: John Paul Justice, Layford Justice, Kenneth Justice, Barbara Jean Kenrick, Foster Justice, Odale Cook, Ballard Justice, Jr., Claude Justice and Margarette Justice.
Survivors include his devoted wife Reda Kay Gardner Justice; two sons, Joey Justice of Clintwood and William Justice of Nashville, Tn.; four sisters, Ruth Charlton, Indianapolis, In., Lena Newsome, Patty Collins and Frances Charles, all of Pikeville, Ky.
Funeral services for Gary Douglas Justice were conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Darrell Milgrim officiating. Burial followed at the Annie Young Cemetery Pikeville, Ky. Pallbearers were family and friends. Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Boggs and J.R. McClanahan. The family received friends from 10 a.m. till service time. May he rest in peace and God Bless his family and friends.
