BEVERLY LYNN DEEL YATES

Beverly Lynn Deel Yates, age 58, loving daughter, mother and nana passed away in the late evening of December 19, 2022 at her home, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.  Beverly was born on November 29, 1964 to Windel and Thelma Deel of Haysi.  She graduated from Grundy High School in 1983, from Morehead State University in 1987, obtaining her undergraduate degree in psychology, and from Liberty University in 1989, obtaining her master’s degree in psychology.  She was employed by Dickenson County Behavioral Services for 24 years as a licensed professional counselor.  Helping those with mental health needs was her passion.  Beverly was a devoted Christian.  She loved the Lord with all her mind, her heart and her soul.  She loved to read her Bible and share the Good News with everyone.

Beverly is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Donald and Naomi Deel; her paternal grandparents, Patton (Buddy) and Morgania Deel; her cousin, Brian Deel and her uncles, Cleamis and Vendette Deel.

Survivors include her loving parents, Windel and Thelma Deel of Haysi; her daughter, Wendy Yates of the home; her granddaughter, Kendra Dotson of the home; her Uncle Eugene and Aunt Elowese Ratliff, Aunt Velma Ann, Uncle Clancey and Aunt Pat Deel, Aunt Patsy Deel, Aunt Debbie Deel, Uncle David and Aunt Lucetta Ezell, Uncle Billy and Aunt Shirley Deel and several cousins.

Visitation and funeral service were conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elder Denny Deel officiating. Burial followed in the George W. Deel Cemetery, Haysi. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Online condolences may be sent www.haysifuneral.com.
