MARILYN SUE (MERLE) DEEL

Marilyn Sue (Merle) Deel, age 67 of Democrat Drive went home to her Lord and Savior on December 10, 2022 at Pikeville Medical Center having fought an awful disease for over four years.

Born in Michigan she was the daughter of the late Stacy and Arbutus Edwards Barton and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Lovell and her father and mother-in-law Lonnie B. and Bonnie Deel.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Larry M. Deel; sons, Benjamin Deel, Birchleaf and Matthew (Kirsten) Deel, Birchleaf; two grandsons who were the light of her life, Elym Cash and Kason Matthew Deel; three sisters, Rhonda Lennox of Oh., Margie Wise, Fredericks, and Karen (Rick) Filipponi, Stafford; one brother, Larry Barton of Tampa, Fl., several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Roger Fuller, Noah Kim Edwards and Jimmy Counts officiating. Family and neighbors will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. prior to the service.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Lonnie B. Deel Cemetery, Democrat Drive, Birchleaf. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
