BURNUAL DEEL

Burnual Deel age 91 passed away Saturday December 10, 2022, at Pikeville Medical Center. He was born in Haysi on September 11, 1931, to the late Samuel Patton Deel and Sarah C. Deel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Effie (Wesley) Boyd, Eva (Frank) Deel, Patton Deel Jr. “Buddy” (Morgania) Deel, Virgil (Elmiray) Deel, Emory (Pinky and Cynthia) Deel, Trula (Ray) Coleman; foster brother, Doc Owens. He was the last remaining member of his family.
Burnual was a United States Army Veteran having served his country during the Korean Conflict.

Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 68 years, Philadene Deel; daughter, Bernadine Cochran and husband Gary, Haysi; granddaughter, Brandy Hay and husband Kenny, Abingdon, and one great-granddaughter, Natalie Hay, Abingdon. As well as one sister in-law, Lorene Stewart of Oh. and a special niece, Juanita Conaway, Haysi. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday November 13, 2022, at 2 p.m. Pallbearers were friends and family. The family received friends after 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Military Rites were conducted by the Buchanan County VFW. Burial followed in the Patton Deel Cemetery, Greenbrier Road, Haysi. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
