DONALD WAYNE CLAY

Donald Wayne Clay age 83, passed away at Heritage Hall Health Care of Clintwood, Saturday November 26, 2022. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, riding ATV, time with family and watching TV in his recliner. After high school Don worked at Clintwood Lumber, then relocated to Michigan where for many years was a carpenter. Later returned to Clintwood and retired from the coal industry as a surface miner.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Greathel and Ruth Bise Clay; along with his sisters, Helen Rasnick and Clara Conley; brothers, Ronnie, Bob, Gary and Jackie Clay; daughters, Virginia Ruth and Rebecca and a granddaughter, Christina.
Survivors include his wife Remonabelle; his children, Scott, Kristia, Tom, Vanessa, Jeff and Wesley; brothers, Roger and Sam Clay; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Donald W. Clay were conducted at 12 Noon on Tuesday November 29, 2022 at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Hawkins officiating. Burial followed in the Fleming Point Cemetery Camp Creek section of Clintwood. Pallbearers were family and friends. The family received friends from 11 a.m. till service time.
