RUTH NADEAN BELCHER

Ruth Nadean Belcher, age 91 of Haysi, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.  Born in Dickenson County she was the daughter of the late Robert (Bob) and Estelle (Peg) Robinson Owens.  She was a homemaker.  She joined Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church in 1965 and remained a faithful member.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Berchie Belcher; a daughter, Deidre Belcher; two grandchildren, Lauren Carico and Alex Musick, and a brother, Haburn Jack Owens.

Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda (Zane) Counts, and Ginger (fiancé L.H. Edwards) Mullins both of Haysi; a son, Biff (Robin) Belcher also of Haysi; three brothers, Ferl Owens, Abingdon, Paul (Theda) Owens, Abingdon, Darrell (Lana) Owens, Haysi; sisters, Tana Owens, Haysi, Anna (Ken) Kausch, Pounding Mill, and Joan (Dan) Yates of Cedar Bluff.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Ervin, Jennifer, James, Brad, Manus, Paul, Gavin, Jacob, Maghan, and Peyton; 14 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jeremy, Zachary, Jazmine, Sydney, Gabe, Griffen, Brody, Nick, Justin, Madison, Hannah, Silas and Nora; 8 great-great-grandchildren, Hailey, Emma, Kenzie, Sophia, Rozlynn, Knox, Clayton, and Jep.

Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Sluss officiating.  A visitation started at 6 p.m. prior to the funeral service.   Graveside services were conducted 11 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 in the Belcher Cemetery, Haysi.
