County reports 40 additional COVID cases

Dickenson County reported 40 new COVID-19 cases in one week.

On Sept. 20, the Virginia Department of Health reported a total of 4,039 cases since the pandemic began. As of yesterday, the number had increased to 4,079.
The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 57.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 11 in a week, from 5,427 Sept. 20 to 5,438 yesterday. Russell County’s total case count increased by 52 in a week, to 8,377. Wise County reported 13,020 cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 82 in a week.
