Nancy Elaine Garrett, age 73 of Big Ridge Road passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 at her home. Born in Detroit, Mi. she was a daughter of the late Joe and Sonia Prisby Zawislak. She was last employed as a head custodian and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Garrett; grandchildren, Racquel Wood, Kyle Wood and Anthony Garrett and a sister, Sylvia Palmer.

Survivors include her husband of almost 50 years, Louie Garrett; a daughter, Penny (Rick) Wood; a son, Tony Garrett; grandchildren, Nicholas (Breana Wallace) Wood, Christian Garrett, Brandon Garrett and Brent Garrett; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Zawislak and a sister, Joanne Zawislak.

Funeral service were conducted 12 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Haysi Funeral Home with Michael Rasnick officiating. Burial followed in the Rebecca Willis Cemetery, Haysi.
