Two deaths, 33 new cases

Dickenson County reported 33 new COVID-19 cases in one week.

On Sept. 13, the Virginia Department of Health reported a total of 4,006 cases since the pandemic began. As of yesterday, the number had increased to 4,039.
The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths increased by two, from 55 to 57.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 18 in a week, from 5,409 Sept. 13 to 5,427 yesterday. Russell County’s total case count increased by 44 in a week, to 8,325. Wise County reported 12,938 cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 68 in a week.
