County: 32 new cases in a week

Dickenson County reported 32 new COVID-19 cases in one week.

On Aug. 30, the Virginia Department of Health reported a total of 3,937 cases since the pandemic began. As of yesterday, the number had increased to 3,969.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 53.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 44 in a week, from 5,338 Aug. 30 to 5,382 yesterday. Russell County’s total case count increased by 141 in a week, to 8,206. Wise County reported 12,781 cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 118 in a week.
