BETTY JO ARTRIP

Betty Jo Artrip age 93, of Clintwood passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Heritage Hall in Wise. Betty was a member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher for 54 years. She was a baker of many wedding and birthday cakes. She was also well known for her delicious Christmas cookies and candies that she shared throughout her Foxtown neighborhood. Most of all, Betty was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Millard Artrip; parents, Ross and Nora Branham; sisters, Jacquline Taylor and Cora Hill.

Betty is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary (Diana) Artrip and Jerry (Rebecca) Artrip; sister, Bildean Artrip; brother, David Branham; step-grandchildren, Lola Rakes and Adam Mullins; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, September 7, 1 p.m. at Phipps Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Lynn Vanover officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family request mask be worn during services.
