County reports 50 new cases

Dickenson County reported 50 new COVID-19 cases in one week.

On Aug. 23, the Virginia Department of Health reported a total of 3,887 cases since the pandemic began. As of yesterday, the number had increased to 3,937.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 53.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 50 in a week, from 5,288 Aug. 23 to 5,338 yesterday. Russell County’s total case count increased by 202 in a week, to 8,065. Wise County reported 12,663 cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 206 in a week.
