County sees 30 additional COVID cases

Dickenson County reported 30 new COVID-19 cases in one week.

On Aug. 16, the Virginia Department of Health reported a total of 3,857 cases since the pandemic began. As of yesterday, the number had increased to 3,887.
The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 53.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 29 in a week, from 5,259 Aug. 16 to 5,288 yesterday. Russell County’s total case count increased by 139 in a week, to 7,863. Wise County reported 12,457 cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 326 in a week.
