SARAH “SALLY” LEE HUNTER MYERS

Sarah “Sally” Lee Hunter Myers, age 76, of Knoxville, Tn. passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022. She was raised in Norton, the only child of Howard Lee Hunter and Sarah Elizabeth Hunter. She left Norton to attend Moorehead State and then transferred to the University of Tennessee where she earned her bachelors and Master’s degrees. Sally was extremely gifted in all facets of life. She was a talented educator, entrepreneur, clinician, and role model. Achieving all of this is even more impressive when factoring in she was a single mother to five children. The word determined does not do Sally’s never quit attitude justice. She imbued this value on her children constantly pushing them in everything they were involved with.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children; Aaron Myers, Erika “Alex” (Doug) Sands, Josh (Brandy) Myers, Jakob (Andrea) Myers, Noah (Laura) Myers and 2 grandchildren.

Family and friends gathered on Saturday, August 13 at 9:45 a.m. at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap for a 10 a.m. graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials in Sally’s name be made to Alzheimer’s East Tennessee, https://www.alztennessee.org/give/donate-now.
