GREER “CLIFTON” SALYERS

Greer “Clifton” Salyers, age 87, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Heritage Hall in Clintwood, Virginia. He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and am member of Tarpon Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Beatrice Salyers; his parents, Charlie and Rosa Salyers; and his siblings, Billy Salyers, George Washington Salyers, Martha Custis Washington Cochran, Marie Ellis, and Don Salyers.

Survivors include two sons, Jeffery L Salyers of Clinchco and Gregory C Salyers of Richmond; one brother, David Salyers of Asheville, NC; two grandchildren, Stephanie Salyers and Courtney Hinton and four great-grandchildren, Matthew Chase Baker, Luke Hinton, Faith Hinton and Mackenzie Hinton.

The family received friends Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 6 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services that followed at 7 p.m. with Jerry Vitatoe officiating. A graveside service was held Friday, June 17, 2022 at The Chapel of Love, Temple Hill, Castlewood at 1 p.m. Burial followed. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
