County: One death, seven cases

Dickenson County has reported another COVID-19 death and saw its total number of cases increased by seven in one week.

On May 24, the Virginia Department of Health reported a total of 3,334 cases since the pandemic began. As of yesterday, the number had increased to 3,341.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths increased from 49 to 50.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 19 in a week, from 4,928 May 24 to 4,947 yesterday. Russell County’s total case count increased by 35 in a week, to 6,970. Wise County reported 10,464 cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 59 in a week.
