Peggy Ann Carico age 80, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville, Tn. Mrs. Carico was born in Coeburn, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Della “Mae” Hamm. She was a devout Christian who sang with the Carico Family Singers for many years. She loved spending time with family and outdoors at the lake.

Mrs. Carico was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Cecil Carico; parents, Lloyd and Della “Mae” Hamm; one brother, James C. Hamm; one grandson, Timothy B. Fresch and one great-grandchild, Domonic Fresch.

Survivors include four sons, Danny Carico of Columbus, Oh., Joe A. Carico of Sandusky, Oh., John “Buddy: Carico and Michelle of Clintwood and Charles “Billy” Carico of Sandusky, Oh.; daughter, Gwenda Fresch of Bellevue, Oh.; brother, Ray Hamm and Pat of Athens, Oh.; grandchildren, Amanda Fresch, Maegan Rameau, Zachary Carico, Christopher Carico, Christy Carico, Daniel Carico, Lauren Richie and Harley Carico; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 18, 7 p.m. at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Crawford and R.L. Crawford officiating. Visitation began at 5 p.m. Family and friends were requested to meet at Clintwood Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19 at 1 p.m. to proceed to Greenwood Acres Cemetery, Coeburn, where a graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
