Case rates climb again

Dickenson County’s total number of COVID-19 cases increased by 11 in one week.

On May 10, the Virginia Department of Health reported a total of 3,315 cases since the pandemic began. As of yesterday, the number had increased to 3,326.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 49.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases was revised down by one — from 4,900 reported May 10 to 4,899 Tuesday.

Russell County’s total case count increased by 32 in a week, to 6,893.

Wise County reported 10,327 cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 32 in a week.
