COVID case growth plummets

Dickenson County saw only one new COVID-19 case in one week.

According to the Virginia Department of Health, as of Tuesday, the county reported a total of 3,312 cases since the pandemic began, as compared to 3,311 cases reported April 5.
The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 47.

Nearby, Buchanan County recorded a total of 4,878 positive cases since the pandemic began, an increase of seven in one week. Russell County reported 6,826 cases in a week, an increase of seven cases. Wise County reported 10,248 cases, an increase of eight.
