Virus case rates flat; hospitalizations remain high

Dickenson County saw an increase of two COVID-19 cases in one week, but hospitalization rates remain high.
According to the Virginia Department of Health, as of Tuesday, the county reported a total of 3,311 cases since the pandemic began, as compared to 3,309 cases reported March 29.
Meanwhile, 76 county residents were hospitalized with COVID as of Tuesday.
The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 47.
Nearby, Buchanan County recorded a total of 4,871 positive cases since the pandemic began. The case count was revised down from 4,877 cases reported March 29.
Russell County reported 6,819 cases in a week, an increase of seven cases. Wise County reported 10,240 cases, an increase of three.
