New case rates slow dramatically

Dickenson County saw an increase of just three COVID-19 cases in eight days.

According to the Virginia Department of Health, as of Tuesday, the county reported a total of 3,309 cases since the pandemic began, as compared to 3,306 cases reported March 21.

Meanwhile, 76 county residents were hospitalized with COVID as of Tuesday.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 47.

Nearby, Buchanan County recorded a total of 4,877 positive cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 13 cases in eight days. Russell County reported 6,812 cases, an increase of 17 cases. Wise County reported 10,237 cases, an increase of 20.
