GLENDA KENNEDY ROSE

Glenda Kennedy Rose, age 79, passed away Sunday February 20, 2022 in Sebring Florida. She was the daughter of the late Edison Kennedy and Audrey B. Mullins Kennedy. Glenda was born at home October 25, 1942 and grew up on Caney Ridge. She graduated from Clintwood High School in 1960 and married her High School sweetheart, D.S. Rose the same year. They moved to Powhatan where they made their home, and in the surrounding Richmond area, until retiring to Sebring thirteen years ago. Glenda was artistic and enjoyed oil painting, floral design and architecture. She was a Christian of the Baptist faith and believed in the power of prayer.

Glenda is survived by her loving husband, D.S. Rose, Jr. her son Michael De Rose and wife Laura and granddaughter Emily of Quinton, Virginia. Her sister Verna Kennedy Smith and husband Benny of Caney Ridge, a brother Gary Kennedy and wife Sue of Colorado Springs, Colorado, sister-in-law Betty Jo Eribarne of Rutledge, Tennessee, a nephew close to her heart Jarrod Smith and many nieces and nephews along with a host of relatives and friends.

Although Glenda lived away from Dickenson County most of her adult life, she always considered Caney Ridge home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
