TINA LOUANGELA RODGERS

Tina LouAngela Rodgers, 61, beloved mother and friend, peacefully departed this world on Friday, February 11, 2022. Originally from Haysi, she was the daughter of Janice Dales O’Quinn and the late Franklin Delano Roosevelt O’Quinn. Mrs. Rodgers was of the Old Regular Baptist faith, was a member of the International Storytelling Center, a past president of the Gamma Beta Phi International Academic Honor Society at ETSU, an Appalachian history researcher and preservationist, and a passionate social activist and gifted storyteller.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her loving husband, Graham Rodgers; two daughters, Sarah Brooke Stiltner and partner Abdul Rehman; Rachel Stiltner and partner Fran, both of Johnson City, Tenn.; brothers, David (Tammy) O’Quinn of Haysi, Bobby (Vickie) O’Quinn of Bristol, Tenn. and Paul O’Quinn of Haysi. Survivors also include two cherished grandchildren, Gabriel Emre Eroglu and Alexandra Marie Campbell, both of Johnson City, Tenn. and two special nieces, Amanda (BJ) Turner and Libby O’Quinn, both of Haysi. Tina also leaves behind a host of loving cousins and family, near and far.
The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Haysi Funeral Home, where a Celebration of Life service was held at 7 p.m. with Elder David O’Quinn officiating. Additional funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Tivis Chapel Old Regular Baptist church with church Elders officiating. Burial will follow at the O’Quinn home-place on Newberry Ridge where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneralhome.com.
