ARBUTUS VIERS HORTON

Arbutus Viers Horton, lovingly known by all as “Boo”, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 27, 2021 at her home in Clintwood. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Effie Deel Viers and Isom Viers; her husband, Glenn Horton; her son, Larry Horton; her daughter, Nell Horton Mullins; brothers, Hassel Viers and Granville Viers; sister, Phyllis Mullins and grandson, Nathan Baker.

She is survived by daughter in-law Barbara Horton of Mooresburg, Tenn., four grandchildren, Angie Haywood and husband Jimmy of Mooresburg Tenn., Tony Mullins and wife Brooke of Lebanon, Amanda Phipps and husband Jason of Clintwood and Amber Barton and husband Larry of Clintwood; 10 great-grandchildren, Brooke, Kelsey, Trevor, Tanner, Abby, Hannah, Zach, Zoey, Destinee and Bella; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Carson and Addison; a special caregiver of the past 11 years, Patsy Mullins of Clintwood, who is now part of our family forever and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends, Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Bobby Joe Phipps officiated. Covid-19 guidelines were followed and masks were required. Burial followed in the Ketron Memorial Cemetery, Lebanon. Grandsons and great-grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Randy Horton, Buddy Horton, Donnie Mullins, and Joe Herndon. Online condolences may be made at www.mullinsfuneralhome.net.
